MINISTRY OF HOSPITALITY - 2007

The Ministry of Hospitality at The Church of the Transfiguration consists of twenty dedicated men and women, who serve as Ushers on a regular basis.  They are available to seat those parishioners needing assistance.  In addition, they are available to answer parishioner's questions and provide assistance to the Celebrant.

The Ushers collect offerings and coordinate the procession for the presentation of gifts.  The Ushers receive the sign of peace from the Celebrant which is conveyed to the congregation.

The Ushers are also alert for any emergency, so they can act in the best interest of the congregation.

In 2003, Transfiguration Church vested its Ushers with green jackets, so they have a uniform appearance and they can be easily recognized by the congregation.

It is our goal in the foreseeable future to have full Usher coverage, since there are a shortage of Ushers at all Masses.  Volunteers are always welcome.  If any parishioner is interested in serving as an Usher, please contact the Head Usher, Bernie Sciarpelletti at (914)631-1184.
